Polgwedhen Lodge

Very kind and helpful lady owner, quiet and peaceful place.
Great location, tucked away but easy to find, very quiet, just what we wanted as we had our nervous dog with us. Great communication from the owners. Nice and warm inside even on a frosty night.
We liked the remoteness of the lodge, with it being a good base to explore Cornwall. The bed was very comfortable and we loved the scones and tea on arrival!

Perfect place to spend our Christmas! Secluded, homely and beautiful location
Can’t fault it
Loved everything. Cute little lodge but very comfortable. Good location for walks and a half hour drive to St Ives. Everything was there you'd need for comfort, relaxation and to cook. A cream tea on arrival.
Host was friendly and made us feel at ease but after the initial greeting you are left to enjoy but with their details if you need anything

Highly Recommend!
Peaceful and tranquil hidden gem, in a completely private setting which was perfect for us and the dogs, overlooking the beautiful lake watching and listening to the wildlife with no light pollution.
On arrival to the cosy, spotlessly clean and very comfortable self-catering lodge was a lovely fresh
Cream Tea waiting for us. Very clean and homely with all the amenities you would need.
Vanda is a lovely and friendly host and checked in on us on our first evening to introduce herself and make sure everything was ok (which it was).
Location is ideal and very central in Cornwall.. close to Truro & Newquay to name but a few.
You can see why so many people are returning guests.. us now included!
Perfect 5*

What an absolute gem this place is! So peaceful and quiet, the surroundings are beautiful. The cabin is extremely well presented and the cream tea on arrival was a lovely touch (they were very tasty scones too!). Everything you need is provided and Vanda was a lovely host and left us to it once she had introduced herself. Would recommend this place to anyone and if ever we come back down this way we wouldn’t hesitate to book up again. Thankyou Vanda for letting us stay in the little piece of heaven you have created
Absolutely brilliant, fabulous lodge, beautiful location and amazing hosts! Had the best time

This is a bitter sweet review of Polgwedhen Lodge, because the more that people read these 5 star reviews, the more difficult it will be for us to book again in the future, which we most definitely will.
The Lodge was spotlessly clean when we arrived, and Vanda had left us a lovely Cornish Cream tea, which was very welcome after a long drive.
The Lodge has everything you could possibly need for a self catering break, including a BBQ. The kitchen is very well equipped, and like the rest of the Lodge, spotlessly clean.
The bed and the pillows are probably the best we've slept in, pity we couldn't bring it home with us.
What can I say about the large grounds and lake to give it justice? Beautiful setting, and great to sit on the garden chairs and watch/listen to the moorhens, ducks etc on the lake. There's a circular walk around
the lake, to get different views of the lake, Lodge and grounds. Our 2 dogs loved
the large grassed grounds to run around in, it was great to see them enjoying
themselves. The location is perfect, as there are shops, a chippy, a pub,
Chinese takeaway just 5 minutes drive away, and Truro is just 10-15 minutes
drive away, passing a McDs and small retail park. In the other direction,
Perranporth beach is about a 20 minute drive away.
All in all, we couldn't fault the Lodge or the location, and can't wait to go back.
Thank you Vanda for a perfect holiday home! PJ
